Kristen Holmes

Special Events Manager

Kristen, originating from Boston, Massachusetts, has spent much of her career working within the hospitality and professional services Industry. Her first position was as a server for a Friendly’s Ice Cream Restaurant, outside of Boston. Her first shift was the busiest night of the year for Friendly’s, July 4th, and she knew if she could make it through that day, she could face any challenge that came her way.

While attending school at Johnson and Wales University, for Fashion Merchandising and Management, Kristen had the opportunity to work with the Lafrance Hospitality Company. She worked at several of their properties including their original property, Whites of Westport, a multi-room catering facility and à la carte restaurant. Kristen found her passion for the restaurant industry there. She thrived in the fast-paced environment and spent her downtime with the chefs in the kitchen, curiously and intently observing their craft.

Kristen further developed her professional career in administration and marketing with environmental engineering firms in Massachusetts and Florida. She created proposals to win local, state, and federal contracts for environmental cleanup projects.

When Kristen moved to New York she quickly found a position with the BR Guest Restaurant Group. But it wasn’t until she came to the Central Park Boathouse that she truly found a position that combined her skills with her love of food and wine and a passion for working with people, all while working within beautiful Central Park.

Kristen lives in Brooklyn with her partner, Eric, and their two cats, Chloe and Anthony. She has an extensive indoor garden of unique plants and exotic flowers. Kristen is a certified scuba diver who loves to travel.
